Sustainable Amphibian Conservation of the Americas Symposium 31/7-4/8

BIG Announcement for Summer of 2013!

Black Jungle is planning one of the most exciting Amphibian Conservation events of the 2013 and will be nothing like any other event of its kind! It will be a 5 day Symposium held in Costa Rica and is open to the first 100 registrants.

This event is open to the public and welcomes participation from any and all of the following: amphibian enthusiasts, researchers, zoo professionals, students, amphibian conservationists, as well as frog lovers of all kinds.

This event will consist of 5 days of lectures, presentations, and a roundtable discussion featuring 16 researchers, biologists and other professionals associated in the field of amphibian study and conservation. Additionally, there will be exciting and interesting field trips and tours which will leave you with a comprehensive understanding of why sustainable amphibian conservation is so important.

Conservation organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Costa Rica are represented, as well as an invited guest whose conservation efforts are currently focused on the amphibians of Madagascar.

The location in Siquirres, Costa Rica has been chosen in part due to its close proximity to the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center (CRARC) and also because its rain forests offer access to some of the most diverse biotypes and amphibian densities in the world.

The main force behind this Symposium is to act as an exciting and educational fundraising event for conservation organizations like the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center, WIRIKI of Ecuador, MITSINJO of Madagascar, and Tesoros of Colombia. Your participation by attending this Symposium will positively influence these conservation efforts as a result of your contribution.

*To round off your tropical Symposium experience, we thought that we should incorporate an "Elective Day Field Trip" where everyone can reserve a place on one of the following tours that best suits their personal interests. There will be a limited number of spaces on each trip so plan to register for your desired trip early. Note: There may be a minimum number of people required for each tour as well so if this number is not met, please have an alternate trip in mind in case you are asked to switch.

Early Registration fee for this event is $1,299 per person based on a shared room with 2 beds.

Snuggle-up & SAVE $100pp! Groups of 4 people (limited to the first 5 groups) may request a special group rate of $4,799 by sharing a room when paid all together and are available on a first come, first served basis. Each room will have 2 beds so this means that you will be sharing a bed with your close friend.

Single rate supplement is $300 so the rate for a single private room is $1,599.

Early Registration ends January 31, 2013. After this date, registration fees will increase by $100 per person.
